Clearing the CMOS settings

If you forget the BIOS password, you can clear it by erasing the CMOS RAM. The RAM data containing the password information is powered by the onboard button cell battery. To quickly erase the CMOS RAM, do the follow steps:

CAUTION: Do not change any jumper setting while the computer is on. Damage to the motherboard can result.
  1. Find the two solder points labeled CLRTC.
  2. Use the metal end of flat screwdriver to cross these two points.
  3. Reassemble the computer and turn it on.
  4. Hold down the F1 key during startup and enter BIOS setup to re-enter user preferences
