HP Color LaserJet 4600 and 4650 Series Printers - How to reset the Transfer Unit and Fuser Count

Information

When the Electrostatic Transport Belt (ETB) or the fuser are replaced before their normal end of life, access the Resets menu and reset the counter to zero.

Resetting the transfer unit count

If the transfer unit is replaced when it is not at the end of life, it will be necessary to calibrate the printer and reset the transfer unit count through the control panel.

  1. Press (Select) to enter the MENUS .

  2. Press (Down Arrow) to highlight CONFIGURE DEVICE .

  3. Press (Select) to select CONFIGURE DEVICE .

  4. Press (Down Arrow) to highlight RESETS .

  5. Press (Select) to select RESETS .

  6. Press (Down Arrow) to highlight RESET SUPPLIES .

  7. Press (Select) to select RESET SUPPLIES .

  8. Press (Down Arrow) to highlight NEW TRANSFER KIT .

  9. Press (Select) to select NEW TRANSFER KIT .

  10. Press (Down Arrow) to highlight YES .

  11. Press (Select) to reset the transfer unit count.

  12. Calibrate the printer, using the instructions below.

Calibrating the printer

Use the following procedure to calibrate the printer after replacing the ETB (Electrostatic Transfer Belt.)

  1. Press (Select) to enter the MENUS .

  2. Press (Down Arrow) to highlight CONFIGURE DEVICE .

  3. Press (Select) to select CONFIGURE DEVICE .

  4. Press (Down Arrow) to highlight PRINT QUALITY .

  5. Press (Select) to select PRINT QUALITY .

  6. Press (Down Arrow) to highlight CALIBRATE NOW .

  7. Press (Select) to select CALIBRATE NOW .

  8. Wait for the printer to calibrate.

Resetting the fuser count

If the fuser is replaced when it is not at the end of its life, it will be necessary to reset the fuser count through the control panel.

  1. Press (Select) to enter the MENUS .

  2. Press (Down Arrow) to highlight CONFIGURE DEVICE .

  3. Press (Select) to select CONFIGURE DEVICE .

  4. Press (Down Arrow) to highlight RESETS .

  5. Press (Select) to select RESETS .

  6. Press (Down Arrow) to highlight RESET SUPPLIES .

  7. Press (Select) to select RESET SUPPLIES .

  8. Press (Down Arrow) to highlight NEW FUSER KIT .

  9. Press (Select) to select NEW FUSER KIT .

  10. Press (Down Arrow) to highlight YES .

  11. Press (Select) to reset the fuser count.
