HP Notebook PCs - Notebook Turns Off When Using Adobe Photoshop CS

The following error can occur when two system memory cards are installed in the PC.

The notebook shuts down unexpectedly each time the PC is used to perform a certain task, such as when using Adobe Photoshop CS, or other applications that perform very high memory or graphics-intensive operations. This may occur during certain image manipulation operations, including multiple layers and layered effects.

Please perform the following steps to resolve this problem:

  1. Check for a loose system memory card by removing and re-inserting the memory cards installed in the notebook. For instructions on how to reseat the memory, see the Upgrading Memory Modules link below.

  2. If the failure still occurs, click "contact hp" on this page for more support options.

As a temporary solution for this issue, remove one memory module from the system (ensure the remaining memory module is properly seated by removing and re-seating it).
