Information

The product utilizes volatile memory to store customer data during the printing process. When the printer is turned off, this volatile memory is erased.

The product also utilizes non-volatile memory to store customer configuration information. This non-volatile memory can be cleared and restored to factory default values by restoring factory default values.

NOTE: Certain device settings may be saved to a computer prior to restoring factory defaults, by using the Save/Restore Settings page from within HP Toolbox.

  • Does not reset factory configured settings including the formatter number, page counts, factory paper settings, language, etcetera
  • Does not delete pages stored in memory
  • Erases the administrative password

There are two methods to restore the unit to the factory default values:

NOTE: Restoring factory defaults will also clear the fax header name and the phone number.
CAUTION: This procedure clears fax numbers and names that are associated with one-touch keys and speed-dial codes, and deletes any pages that are stored in the memory. The procedure then automatically restarts the device.
