Removing the Front Cover in HP Pavilion Media Center m1000, w1000 Series Desktop PCs
This document only pertains to HP Media Center desktop PCs with the following PC case:
Before you begin
WARNING: The edges of metal panels can cut skin. Be careful not to slide skin along any interior metal edge of the computer.
CAUTION: This product contains components that can be damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD). To reduce the chance of ESD damage, work over a noncarpeted floor, use a static dissipative work surface (such as a conductive foam pad), and wear an ESD wrist strap connected to a grounded surface.

Removing the front cover
To replace the power switch, the CD/DVD drives, the front I/O panel, the hard drive, or the memory card reader, the front outer cover must be removed.
WARNING: Make sure the computer is disconnected from power before starting.
