Status messages

The status messages that appear on the Device Status page are the same messages that appear on the HP Color LaserJet 1600 control panel display. The following message types are available:

Initialization and Ready messages

An unauthorized supply was overridden (misuse of HP in OEM field).

This message is a Ready State with Warning error; it does not require the user to take action.

Unexpected size in tray #

Unexpected paper size error. The media size loaded in the tray does not match the media size configured for the tray.
Verify that the print settings are set to the specified media in the tray.
No paper pickup press
The print engine has failed to pick up a piece of media.
In Tray 1, verify that the media was inserted far enough into the tray. In Tray 2 or optional Tray 3, verify that the paper-length guide is in the correct position for the media size that you are using.
Reload the media in the input tray and press Control panel button graphicControl panel button graphic (Select) to continue the job.
Memory is low Press
Job processing memory low. User must acknowledge the error.
The device memory has been almost completely filled.
Allow the device to finish the job, or press Control panel button graphicControl panel button graphic (Select) to cancel the job.
Break the job into smaller jobs that contain fewer pages.
Door open
The printer door is open.
The door must be closed before printing can continue.
Invalid driver
You are using the incorrect printer driver.
Reselect the printer driver appropriate for your device.
Invalid entry
Invalid data or response.
Correct the entry.
