HP LaserJet - Driver and software support for Microsoft Windows Vista
This document provides information about LaserJet Printers and MFPs that are supported in Windows Vista, and where to obtain the driver.
NOTE: LaserJet printers and MFPs released after the Windows Vista release (early 2007) are not listed in this document as all newer products have Windows Vista printer drivers available on the product software CD. Use the product software CD to install the Windows Vista driver for these printers and MFPs.
To make sure you have the most up-to-date information, go to www.hp.com/go/alerts to register to receive support information via email from HP for software and firmware updates as well as security bulletins related to HP LaserJet Printers and MFPs.
The drivers for most LaserJet products are included in the Microsoft Windows Vista Operating System (InOS), for both 32- and 64-bit operating systems, and can be installed using the “Add a Printer” wizard. Use this InOS driver to enable the product's basic scan and/or print functions. For most LaserJets, this is the only driver available for Windows Vista and there are no additional drivers posted to www.hp.com.
Products where indicated in the table below do have drivers available at HP.com and might require the use of the Universal Print Driver (UPD)3.
Most print drivers created for LaserJet printers in Windows XP might also work in Windows Vista. Some products indicated with an asterisk * , or printers that currently use either a PCL5, PCL6 or PostScript driver in Windows XP, might be able to download and use the current XP driver to provide basic print functionality.
