HP Smart Array Controllers - F8 Option ROM Configuration of Arrays (ORCA) May Not Provide Expected Configuration Options

ISSUE:

The F8 Option ROM Configuration of Arrays (ORCA) is not allowing advanced configuration options, such as configuring multiple arrays, very large logical drives, and shared hot spares.

SOLUTION:

ORCA was not intended for complex operations, but rather as a very basic utility to quickly install simple RAID configurations without the use of CD- or diskette-based utilities.

For advanced array and logical drive configuration operations, use the HP Array Configuration Utility (ACU), which is available on both SmartStart CDs and as a standalone operating system based utility.
