Replacing Cartridges for HP Officejet H470, H470b, H470wbt, and H470wf Mobile Printers

Introduction

This document includes steps to replace a print cartridge.

Replacing print cartridges

The blinking print cartridge light indicates that the cartridge is low on ink and needs to be replaced. Follow these steps to replace the print cartridge.

Step one: Replace the old print cartridge

  1. Open the front access cover. Wait for the carriage to stop moving. This should take only a few seconds.

    CAUTION: Remove or install print cartridges only when the print carriage stops moving.
  2. Lift the print cartridge latch to open it. and gently remove the print cartridge from the compartment.

  3. Remove the new print cartridge from its package, and then pull the colored tab to remove the protective film from the cartridge.

  4. Insert the new print cartridge into its compartment. Check the symbol on the latch against the symbol on the print cartridge to make sure you are inserting the correct print cartridge.

  5. Close the print cartridge latch. If the cartridge is inserted correctly, closing the latch gently pushes the cartridge into its compartment. Press the latch to make sure it is seated flat on the cartridge.

  6. Close the front access door.

  7. Wait for the carriage to complete the print cartridge initialization routine and return to the home position at the left side of the product before using the product.

Step two: Align the new print cartridge

Whenever you install a new print cartridge, you should align the print cartridges for the best possible print quality.

  1. Click Start, and highlight Programs.

  2. Select HP Officejet 470 Mobile Printer series, and then click the Toolbox icon.

  3. Click the Printer Services tab, and then click Align Print Cartridges.

  4. Follow the onscreen instructions to print an alignment page and complete the alignment procedure.
