HP ProLiant DL320 G5p Server - Removing and Replacing the Dedicated iLO connector module

Introduction

This document is provided to assist in removing and replacing the dedicated iLO connector module for the HP ProLiant DL320 G5p Server.

Minimum skill level

The End User requires no hardware-specific training to replace the defective part. The End user should have familiarity with system hardware and software requiring repair.

Torx T-15 screwdriver (included with the server)

Parts required

NOTE: Part numbers are subject to change.

The replacement part number will vary depending on the dedicated iLO connector module that is being replaced. If a part is listed as "Yes" under "Requires Return" then the defective part needs to be returned to HP. Click here for more information on returning parts to HP .

Dedicated iLO connector module removal

  1. Review the safety considerations before performing the steps listed below by clicking on the following link:

    CAUTION: Failure to comply with the precautions could result in damage to your product or loss of data.
  2. Power down the server, remove it from the rack, and remove the primary access panel .

  3. Remove the two Torx T-15 screws that secure the iLO connector module to the system board.

  4. Disconnect the iLO connector module from the system board and lift it up and out of the chassis.

Dedicated iLO connector module replacement

  1. Align the iLO connector module with the connector on the system board.

  2. Press the iLO connector module down firmly to fully seat the module.

  3. Replace the two Torx T-15 screws to secure the iLO connectror module to the system board.
