HP Photosmart C3180 All-in-One Printer - Loading and Printing Envelopes

Introduction

This document provides instructions for loading and printing envelopes in the product.

NOTE: Do not use shiny or embossed envelopes or envelopes that have clasps or windows. They can get stuck in the rollers and cause paper jams.

Loading and printing envelopes

Use the following instructions to load and print on envelopes:

Step one: Load the envelopes

  1. Remove all paper from the paper supply tray.

  2. Insert one or more envelopes in the far right side of the paper tray with the envelope flaps up and to the left (print side down). Slide the stack of envelopes forward until it stops.

NOTE: To avoid paper jams, tuck the flaps inside the envelopes.
  3. Slide the paper-width guide inward against the stack of envelopes until it stops.

NOTE: Do not overload the paper tray. Make sure that the stack of envelopes fits within the paper tray and is no higher than the top of the paper-width guide.

Step two: Print on the envelopes

Some word processing applications, like Microsoft Word, use an envelope tool or wizard to print envelopes. After the envelopes are loaded, try to use the wizard first as they save time and usually print on the envelope correctly. If there are issues with the wizard, manually adjust the print settings for envelopes in the software application you are printing from, and then print.

NOTE: For specific details on how to use a wizard to format text for printing on envelopes, consult the help files in the word processing software.
