Replacement Printer Instructions for HP LaserJet Pro M1530 Multifunction Printer Series


When HP replaces your defective unit, some accessories or parts need to be transferred from the defective unit to the replacement product.

NOTE: Please be aware that:
  • Some optional accessories may not be included with your product model.
  • Any optional accessories bought separately should be kept.

Prior to replacing or disposing of your defective unit, follow these instructions to ensure the right accessories are removed from the defective unit and transferred to the replacement product:

  1. Power off the HP LaserJet printer and then unplug the power cord. Wait for the printer to cool and keep the following accessories:

    a) Black print cartridge.

    CAUTION: To prevent damage, do not expose the print cartridge to light. Cover the print cartridge, if necessary.
    • Lift the scanner assembly, and then open the print cartridge door.

    • Grasp the handle on the print cartridge, and then pull the print cartridge straight out to remove it.

      WARNING: Do not touch the green roller (imaging drum) on the bottom of the cartridge. Fingerprints on the imaging drum could cause print-quality issues.
    • Close the print cartridge door and the scanner assembly.

    b) Power cord

    c) USB (Universal Serial Bus) cable

    d) Phone cord

    e) Ethernet cable

    f) Product manuals & CDs

    CAUTION: Please do not keep the Output bin tray and Priority input tray. Send them alongside the defective unit instead.

  2. Keep the accessories mentioned above to use with the replacement product.

  3. Power on the replacement product and test all product functions.
