DESCRIPTION

For certain notebooks, the WWAN device will still appear in the Device Manager unless both the WWAN and GPS devices are disabled in the F10 BIOS setup.

Additionally, the WWAN device will not have functionality if it is disabled in the F10 BIOS menu, regardless of if it appears in the Device Manager.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, remove power from the WWAN device by disabling both the WWAN and GPS devices within the F10 BIOS menu. To do this, complete the following steps.

  1. Power on or restart the notebook PC.

  2. Press F10 when the HP logo displays.

  3. Scroll using the arrow keys and disable both the WWAN and GPS settings.
