Checking Ink Levels for HP Deskjet 1050 (J410a), 1051, 1055 (J410e), and 2050 (J510a) All-in-One Printers

Introduction

Follow these steps to check the ink levels for your printer. Check the ink levels to determine how soon you might need to replace a cartridge. The ink level shows an estimate of the amount of ink remaining in the cartridges.

NOTE: Ink level warnings and indicators provide estimates for planning purposes only. When an indicator shows low-ink levels, consider having a replacement cartridge available to avoid possible printing delays. You do not need to replace cartridges until print quality becomes unacceptable.

Checking low ink status

On the printer control panel, one or both cartridge lights turn on (not blinking) when the indicated cartridge is low on ink.

NOTE: If you installed a refilled or remanufactured cartridge, or a cartridge that was previously used in another printer, the ink level indicator might be inaccurate or unavailable.
