This package contains the Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP driver for the Compaq Wireless LAN Multiport W200 used with desktop models with Multiport.

PURPOSE: Routine

1. Download the SoftPaq .EXE file to a directory on your hard drive.
2. Execute the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files. You are given the opportunity to specify the target directory for the files, or to accept the default to the download directory. After the program finishes unpacking the files, the driver setup program runs automatically to install the driver.
3. After the files have been unpacked, the SoftPaq .EXE file downloaded in Step 1 can be deleted, if desired.

NOTE: To run the driver setup program interactively, run the Setup.exe program in the directory where the driver files were unpacked.
The driver upgrade for the Wireless LAN W200 Multiport module requires that the device be installed and Powered On. The Multiport is Powered On when the LED on the side of the module is illuminated. To Power On the MultiPort, press FN + F2, and then verify the power state with LED status. For more detailed information about installing or using the Multiport module, please refer to the documentation that accompanied your notebook.

Enhancements
- Increases efficiency by offloading the driver to optimize performance. When the module is in Clear or Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) mode, the Wi-Fi Protected Access Information Element (WPA IE) is not passed to the host.
